Der LC3 wurde 1928 von dem schweizerisch-französischen Architekten Le Corbusier entworfen.
The chair consists of four box-shaped cushions that are supported by a tubular steel frame. The side panels are square, seat and backrest are rectangular. The result is an accurate dice. The frame of this classic is made of a complex curved tubular steel frame in polished chrome. The leather cushions are filled with polyurethane foam and dacron. The seat of LC3 was padded with down feathers for optimal comfort.

Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier (1887 – 1965), eigentlich Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, war ein Architekt, Maler, Zeichner, Stadtplaner, Bildhauer und Möbeldesigner schweizerisch-französischer Abstammung.
Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken im Bereich Möbeldesign gelten der Stuhl Basculant LC1, der Sessel LC2, das Sofa LC3, der Chaise longue LC4, das Sofa LC5, der Esstisch LC6 und der Drehstuhl LC7.
Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Architekten und Designer des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das Pseudonym Le Corbusier entstand in Anlehnung an seinen Urgroßvater und seinen Lehrmeister Charles l'Eplattenier.
